The vision of Charity Week is to become a vehicle to inspire young people to become active, socially engaged and united upon our shared Islamic and humanitarian values. Raising money to help countless Orphans and Needy Children across the World is just one outcome. Whatever the problem, no matter how complex or how long standing, we will always find it easier to solve when we all work together.
An interactive and practical society that aims to inspire students towards social development and provides a platform to the members to contribute to the society and make a greater impact.
Charity Week – Charity week is a global fundraising event, with an idea to have fun whilst raising money for a noble cause. Unconventional to the traditional way of raising money. It is conducted during the month of September worldwide, where all students from different universities & schools initiate creative ideas to implement and have fun while raising money to make a change in the lives of Orphans & Needy children across the world.
An extremely successful student-led event, raising a substantial amount for the annual Charity Week. Our Student Social Entrepreneurs worked collaboratively with the staff, organising, and managing events on-campus for the entire week through a wide range of activities including games, bake-sales, movie-screenings etc.
In the past, our students from SSE organised a staff vs student football match, which was a successful event with a bunch of spectators. All the attendees had fun and SSE club was able to raise an enormous amount of money. This initiative got attention nationwide and the university was nominated for the success of the initiative to think outside the box. Such initiatives are the nature of what Charity Week is all about.
With the support of all students & staff we were able to raise a whooping sum of QR. Our SSE club will continue to participate in such noble initiatives that will bring a smile to people’s faces.
Ramadan Donation Drive – A successful collaboration with Wa’hab, a non-profit organization, co-founded by entrepreneur Wardah Mamukoya, tackling food wastage by providing surplus food to the underprivileged. We managed to raise 800 kilogrammes of everyday essentials through its ‘Let’s Make a Difference this Ramadan’ campaign! The range of items collected from the campaign were organised into ‘Ramadan Kindness Boxes’ and distributed in the labour camps.
