  • Latifa Octavia is an accomplished English Language and Business educator with extensive international experience across Qatar, the United Kingdom, Kuwait, and mainland Europe. Her career spans secondary schools, colleges, the armed forces, and universities. Latifa has taught across numerous curricula and qualification types from vocational qualifications to university degrees. Furthermore, she has experience working in both mainstream and special needs settings with a focus on inclusive education. She is also a contributing member of the community having served as a trained fire warden and currently holds the role of Stakeholder Engagement Officer at Oryx University. She has also held notable leadership positions on the examinations, student representative, and societies (clubs) committees having coordinated, overseen, and managed operations within these roles. Beyond the classroom, Latifa has served in diverse professional roles including external consultancy in the UK, e-commerce business advisor in Dubai, and special needs specialist in the United States.
Research Interests
  • Her research interest lies primarily in workforce nationalization in the GCC, with a particular focus on how labour policies, skill development initiatives, and higher-education pathways influence long-term national capacity-building. She is also deeply interested in differentiation in educational settings, especially in exploring how tailored instructional strategies, inclusive pedagogies, and data-informed teaching practices can enhance learner engagement and achievement. Together, these areas allow her to examine the intersection between education and socio-economic development, and to contribute to research that supports sustainable growth and equitable learning opportunities across the region.
